Home > People you will meet > Counsellor / Health adviser People you will meet - counsellor / health adviserThe counsellor / health advisers who work at the Havens are experienced, fully qualified counsellors. If you would like to talk to a professional about how you feel after the assault, the counsellor / health advisers will help. Initially they will assess you to work out what sort of support you need at that time. If counselling at the Haven is appropriate, then they will offer you up to 6 or 12 weekly sessions. If you need specialist help that is best given elsewhere, they will discuss this with you and make a referral for you if necessary. They are also able to provide you with health education and advice on sexual health matters, including information about tests for STIs (sexually transmitted infections) and results. All counsellors / health advisers are women.
